# Frame Guesser

See one still frame from a TV show and name the episode it comes from. It plays like the [Chapter Oracle](/games/chapterguesser/), with frames instead of passages: pick the season first, then the episode.

## How to play

1. Choose a show.
2. Choose a mode.
3. Look at the frame, pick the season, then pick the exact episode.

A show with only one season (or a series of films) skips the season step.

## Modes

**Normal.** Name the season, then the episode. A right episode scores 1 point. A wrong episode in the right season scores nothing, but the run goes on. One wrong season and it's over. When only one season is in play, one wrong episode ends the run.

**Timed.** 60 seconds on the clock. Wrong answers don't end the run; they just don't score.

**Minimum Context.** The frame starts as a small piece of the picture. Zoom out one step at a time to see more. A right episode scores 7 points at the first step, one less for each step you zoom out, and 1 point at the full frame. Wrong answers end the run as in Normal.

**Specific Seasons.** Practise on only the seasons you tick. Same rules as Normal.

## Leaderboards

Enter a name on the mode screen and every finished run with at least one point is saved to that show's leaderboard for the mode. Each name keeps its best score. Click a score marked ▶ replay to see that run frame by frame.

Scores are checked on the server. The game never sends the answer to your browser until you've guessed, so a score can't be edited.

## Adding shows

Frames come from `assets.craftyplayz.com/videoframegame/`, laid out as `Show/Season 1/Episode 1/0001.jpg`, or `Series/Film/0001.jpg` for a film series. The list of shows is refreshed once a day.
